Slippery Senoritas
This interesting side street in Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia had a row of bars and clubs but it was this one that stood out to me simply by its name. It's sometimes sad to see these old buildings being converted into trashy modern entertainment outlets but perhaps better than being left to rot and decay.
Unfortunately I didn't revisit this particular establishment later in the evening to test out the quality of their tapas or salsa .... or even more importantly to check out the slippery senoritas. Perhaps next time.
At the very least the title of this blog may cause some increased hits on my site ......

B. B. King Blues Club & Grill
On West 42nd Street in the heart of the Times Square area in New York City is the B. B. King Blues Club and Grill, a premier supper club offering a wide array of live music in intimate surroundings.
Lucilles Grill, named “Best Great Bar That You’d Never Suspect Was a Great Bar” by the New York Press, where local acts from the New York music scene jam away with no cover price every night of the week. The mahogany framed, bi-level bar & grill offers a unique atmosphere, complete with signature saxophone beer taps. Colorful contemporary art and iconic photography of all the legendary blues masters in the rich history of this uniquely American music form adorn the restaurant walls.

Rich Man's Toys
It's sometimes nice to see how the other half live - this shot was taken at a yacht club in Perth, Western Australia and I thought the expensive sports car perfectly matched the many expensive yachts and crusiers moored in the marina.

Blue Canyon
Asia has many top class premier golf courses and one of my favourites is the Blue Canyon Country Club in Phuket, Thailand. The Blue Canyon Country Club rose to fame when the Canyon Course was selected for the 1994 Johnnie Walker Classic. This was followed by the 1996 Honda Invitational Tournament of the Omega Tour. The Canyon Course's reputation as Asia's best was reaffirmed in 1998 and again in 2007, when the Johnnie Walker Classic returned, making it the first golf course to ever host the tournament thrice in the JWC’s history.
Architect Yoshikazu Kato took great care to mould his design ideas for the Canyon Course around the natural environment of Phuket Island, making use of the natural woodlands, water features and topography of the land. The result is a striking, organic design giving a feeling of unperturbed spontaneity to the intimidating natural hazards and lush fairways.
The Canyon Course features 80 bunkers and water at 10 of its holes as well as plenty of narrow tree-lined fairways, several dog-legs, narrow landing areas and well guarded, slick Bermuda Tidwarf greens to challenge the most proficient of golfers.
The golf clubhouse commands one of the best views over the course that I have seen anywhere and what better way to finish a day's golf but to sit at the clubhouse terrace supping a cold Singha beer and eating some great local Thai food.
