Transco Tower
The Transco Tower in the Galleria area of Houston is now known as the Williams Tower ..... I somehow prefer the old name myself. It was designed by architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee, in association with Houston-based Morris-Aubry Architects, and erected in 1983. The tower is among Houston's most visible buildings. The building is the 4th-tallest inTexas, the 22nd-tallest in the United States, and the 102nd-tallest building in the world. It is the tallest building in Houston outside of Downtown Houston. The building has the United States headquarters of the Hines Interests real estate firm.

Sri Lankan Life Guard
Along the beachfront on Galle Face Drive in Colombo these lifeguards were on duty to ensure the safety of those people venturing into the waves of the Indian Ocean. Their bright red uniforms stood out as they took their position on the watch tower.
In the background of this photo you can see the Galle Face Hotel which sits on a prime spot overlooking the beach and ocean.

The Dark Tower
This image conjures up visions of the Dark Tower from Lord of the Rings ... you almost expect Sauramon to peer over the top and stare down at you! The tower is in fact the Sky Tower in Auckland, New Zealand .... so there is indeed a "Lord of the Rings" connection as the movie was shot in many locations in New Zealand.
