Heelan' Beestie

This highland cow was captured in South Island, New Zealand. I took the image and post-processed using Silver Efex Pro 2 and restored partially some colour on the cow's coat to add a little more impact.

Arty Cow

This bizarre looking statue was seem in the streets of Barcelona, Spain. I am still not sure if the statue is meant to be a cow, a zebra or some form of hybrid animal.

Balinese Farmer

In the rice paddy fields on the outskirts of Ubud in Bali I came across this wonderful farmer who spoke fluent English and was so enthusiastic about telling me about his rice paddies and his prize cow which he then insisted on showing me. I think the demeanor and delightful character of these Balinese people is hard to match anywhere and makes me think I must go back there again soon.

Hielan Coo

Being away from my home country of Scotland I do occasionally get homesick and nostalgic for the sights of the beautiful Scottish counryside ... the rugged mountains, .... the mysterious glens .... the salmon filled rivers ... the moody sea ... and of course the beloved "Heilan Coo" or Highland Cow which has become an icon of Scotland. This photo however was not taken in Scotland but at almost the opposite side of the globe in the south island of New Zealand. It brought a nostalgic tear to my eye though!
