Tehran Treats
This is a traditional old restaurant in the middle of Tehran in Iran. As you can see there is a group of local musicians set up to entertain the packed restaurant. I found the people of Iran to be very warm and friendly and unlike the pre-conceived perception many people have of this country.

Foodie Friday
Remembering your favorites meals is easy with your i-Phone when out for a dinner. Looking at these scallops I can almost remember the sweet delicate taste and texture.

Isadora's Cafe
This dapper young man was parading around the Easter Parade in New York on Easter Sunday and when I asked to take his photograph he proudly whipped out this advertising card for Isadora's Cafe. Nothing to beat some free advertising!

West Lake Floating Restaurant
This beautiful floating restaurant is on West Lake in Hangzhou, China. West Lake seems to be a very popular name for Chinese restaurants - I used to go to one in Singapore many years ago. It was only when I eventually visited Hangzhou that I realised the name comes from the famous West lake that is there.

Dinner in Tehran
This is one of the oldest and most traditional restaurants in Tehran and was packed with customers there to eat dinner, socialise and listen to the local musicians. I guess I arrived in Iran with some pre-conceived ideas about the country and the people but left with a completely different perception. I found the people very friendly, warm and with a great sense of humour and fun. They certainly enjoy an evening out and this venue certainly demonstrated that.

Capercaillie
Capercaillie are a Scottish celtic-folk band founded in the early 1980’s by Donald Shaw and fronted by Karen Matheson. They recorded their first album, Cascade, in 1984. Their 1992 EP, A Prince Among Islands, was the first Scottish Gaelic language record to reach the UK Top 40 singles chart.
Capercaillie have popularised traditional Gaelic songs and music by using modern production techniques and often mixing musical forms combining traditional lyrics with drum and bass.

In May 2008 Capercaillie played a dinner concert at the Hilton Hotel, Kuala Lumpur arranged by the Selangor St. Andrew's Society (SSAS). The evening was an incredible success and the music simply outstanding.
The crystal clear voice of Karen Matheson lived up to every expectation and also to the famous quote from Sean Connery who said she has a voice “touched by God”.
