Mussoorie Methodist Church

This is the central Methodist Church in Mussoorie, India. Mussoorie is a city and a municipal board in the Dehradun District of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is located about 35 km from the state capital of Dehradun and 290 km north from the national capital of New Delhi. This hill station, situated in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan ranges, is also known as the Queen of the Hills. The adjoining town of Landour, which includes a military cantonment, is considered part of 'greater Mussoorie', as are the townships of Barlowganj and Jharipani.

Horse Break

This could be a scene from the wild west in US or perhaps the high mountains of Peru but you would be wrong. It's India. In the hill town of Mussoorie just above the town of Dehradun in northern India. This hill town sits in the foothills of the Himalaya Mountains and you can see many horses here used to trek into the hills and carry supplies to the hill town. These horses are having a welcome break and a time to nose bag!

Kalsang Friend's Corner

This small restaurant in Mussoorie, North India specialised in Tibetan, Chinese and Thai cuisine .... an interesting mix to say the least and have to admit I did not have the opportunity to try the delights of the restauarant. This part of India has many Tibetans and in hill towns such as Mussoorie you see them working as labourers or porters.

Men of Mussoorie

These four men were sat on a bench on the famous Camel's Back Road in Mussoorie, umbrellas at the ready for the incessant rain and mist that rolled down from the hills. Mussoorie is a hill station in the foothills of the Himalayas close to Dehradun ain India and offers a cooler climate and relief from the heat of the lowlands. These men were probably labourers or porters waiting on their next job.

Howard International Hotel - with Revolving Coffee Shop

You've got to hand it to the Indians who are marketing this hotel ..... "International Hotel" .... "Revolving Restaurant with Coffee Shop" .... all the trademarks of an upmarket, high-class, 5-star resort! But where is this fine establishment you ask ..... well it is in Mussoorie, Dehradun, North India, in the foothills of the Himalayas. This photo I think depicts the reality of this "tourist haven" .... more of a "Blackpool at 5000'ft" than anything else.

Being at an average altitude of 1,880 metres (6,170 ft), Mussoorie, with its green hills and varied flora and fauna, is a fascinating hill resort.
