Afternoon High Tea at Eastern & Oriental Hotel

Today's i-Phone Friday image was taken at the wonderful traditional English afternoon tea at the Eastern & Oriental (E&O) Hotel in Georgetown, Penang. Served in the 1885 Restaurant it's like turning the clock back 50 to 100 years, with starched white table covers, period furniture and service to match. Cucumber sandwiches, a selection of cakes and scones with cream and jam all washed down with a choice of fine teas all served on the best china.

Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory

After a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge what better place to stop but the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory which sits in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge on the Brooklyn side on the corner of Old Fulton and Water Street. This building was the location of an original fire boat house and commands one of the best views of the Manhattan skyline with the magnificent span of the Brooklyn Bridge overhead.

The Wee Shoppe

The Wee Shoppe sits on the seafront at Kinghorn, Scotland which is very close to my home town. Here you can buy a selection of snacks, hot drinks, cold drinks, sandwiches, burgers, chips or ice cream and sit out on the esplanade to enjoy the view over Kinghorn Bay. There is nothing to beat the simplicity of an early Sunday morning bacon buttie washed down with a mug of steaming tea as you take in the fresh air of the sea and the wonderful views over the Firth of Forth.
